July Ipsy vs Birchbox

Beauty subscription boxes have been the greatest and latest thing in the beauty community because you get to try out new products before committing to purchasing a full size product. So what are the advantages? I think these are great. You get them delivered for $10 and get 5 or so mini to full sized products to try out based on a quiz regarding your beauty preferences.

So here it goes, I have been a member of Birchbox for two months I received the June Box and July and I absolutely hated both boxes. Yes they are inexpensive, yes the packaging is cute and better than Ipsy but they give me the wrong products. I decided to cancel my Birchbox subscription. I received products I cannot use because they do not fit me such as a face treatment for dry skin. A lip stain that was ruined when I opened the box. I received an email saying that I chose that on my profile. Most of the products are either hair or face products which one I do not use products in my hair when I style and 2 I have sensitive oily skin that is very difficult to use many of these products.

Inside the bag:
Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer ($32)👍🏽
Great Primer for a dewy finish. It gives you a glow and at the same time helps makeup stay on longer.

skyn ICELAND The ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion ($45) 👎🏽
Keeps you hydrated. If you have redness in your skin this might work.

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter ($15)👍🏽
I love nail polishes and this is one I would wear. The color is great, it is a fast drying polish.
VASANTI COSMETICS Professional Eyeshadow Brushes ($21)👍🏽
Tapered shadow brushes are great for covering the base of your eyelid, applying glitter, highlight and more. Super soft bristles.
Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask ($64) 👍🏽
Leaves your skin really soft, fresh and clean.

Inside the box:
Supergoop Daily Correct CC Cream ($32) 👎🏽
I am not a big fan of CC creams specially tinted ones that do not match your skin tone. This one is a miss.
Marcelle Xtension Curl Mascara ($14) 👍🏽
This was ok because we can never have too many mascaras but does not do wonders like it claims to do.
Avene Thermal Spring Water ($9-18) 👍🏽
This is great to set your makeup, to refresh along the day; specially with this hot weather.
Beauty Protector Leave in Conditioner ($24) 👍🏽
This one is a maybe, my hair does not need detangling and the scent is really strong something I do not enjoy but it does make your hair softer and protects it from heat.

Balance Me Face Mask 👎🏽
Although I love face mask I do not see any results. It is suppose to exfoliate and brighten skin but have not seen a difference.

The whole point of these subscription boxes are to find out about products you might not be familiar with. I think its a hit miss situation because they are not that specific with their beauty quizzes. I have had more success with Ipsy than with Birchbox but that is my opinion.
I would love to know which one is your favorite? Are you subscribed to any? Which one would you get?

Beginner's Green Recipe

A couple of months ago I watched a documentary on Netflix called "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and I was motivated to change my lifestyle and eating habits. When I was younger, around 12-13 I believe I ended up in the hospital for a very bad ache on my stomach. I couldn't move and I fainted. I ended up staying in the hospital for about 3 days with IV's on my hands. I was very skinny less than 90 pounds. All I had eaten was a bag of Hot Cheetos and a Pepsi. I was dehydrated. I pretty much learned my lesson, I couldn't eat any meat for years, I stopped drinking soda and it took me 6 years for my stomach to be able to handle things suck as steak, or even a hamburger. Ok, I have to admit I did not eat healthy all throughout my college years because of time and money. Now that I am done with school I am trying to go back on track and change my eating habits. After watching the documentary I decide to try these juices they are talking so much about. I had never like...

Hask Hair Chia Seed Oil Volumizing Collection Review

I am very excited to share yet gain a Hask product I am absolutely in love with. This is the Hask Chia Seed Oil Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner duo that have hydra boost. I have always had straight hair and liveless for that matter so a volumizing shampoo is exactly what I need. With previous Hask products I have had great results so I had high hopes for this one since the beginning.  What I love about this collection is that it is free of sulfates, parabens, alcohol and artificial colors. Hask has a variety of products for your special hair needs, including  Hask give results they added volume to my usually straight hair. My hair looks healthier and gives me a natural bounce that I usually achieve by blow drying my hair and teasing it.  Hask Hair products are very affordable, you get salon quality hair for the price of drugstore. They are $6 a piece and in my opinion a great investment for your beauty routine. They save you time and money and I reco...
